Why I like him:  Because he gets Arya in a way most people do not.  Because he’s loyal.  Because he’s strong.  Because he’s hardworking.  And because the chip on his shoulder isn’t nearly as enormous as it really could have been.

Why I don’t: His chip on his shoulder with regard to his lowborn status gets… a little wearisome, I guess.  Even though him having it is 100% understandable.

Favorite episode (scene if movie):  When he realizes exactly who Arya is for the first time and freaks the fuck out.

Favorite season/movie:  A Storm of Swords.

Favorite line:

From A Storm of Swords:

“You look different now. Like a proper little girl.” (Gendry)
"I look like an oak tree, with all these stupid acorns." (Arya)
"Nice, though. A nice oak tree.” (Gendry)

…and a lot of the exchanges he and Arya shared at Acorn Hall.  Because I’m a shipper.  Not even sorry.

Favorite outfit:  The scene in GoT where he’s shirtless in the armory at Harrenhal.  I honestly don’t really have an opinion on this.  It’s not so much about the clothes with him.

OTP: Arya x Gendry.

Brotp: Arya and Gendry and Hot Pie = BroT3

Headcanon:  He never stops looking for Arya after she flees the Brotherhood’s Camp.  Even though most assumed she died with her family at the Red Wedding, he never quite believes it himself.

Unpopular opinion: I find the age difference between Joe Dempsie and Maisie Williams unsettling.

A wish:  I want them to eventually end up at Winterfell, warm together in their featherbed, and happy.

An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen:  I know the odds of him and Arya ending up together at the end of the series are… slim.  But at the least, I’m very much hoping that he is not prominently featured in the prologue in any of the remaining books.  If you know what I mean.  :(

5 words to best describe him:  Strong, surly, bullheaded bastard boy.

My nickname for him:  I don’t really have nicknames for fictional characters, I’ve decided.

No. No, I saw her die. She was dead for a day and night before they stripped her naked and threw her body in the river. Raymund opened her throat from ear to ear. She was dead.

Her cloak and collar hid the gash his brother’s blade had made, but her face was even worse than he remembered. The flesh had gone pudding soft in the water and turned the color of curdled milk. Half her hair was gone and the rest had turned as white and brittle as a crone’s. Beneath her ravaged scalp, her face was shredded skin and black blood where she had raked herself with her nails.

But her eyes were the most terrible things. Her eyes saw him, and they hated.
